Soroptimist Members and Regions Rise to the Challenge!
Thank you to all the members and regions who have generously supported the Dream Big Campaign and our efforts to raise funds towards the Big Goal! Many individual donors and regions have inspired others to ‘rise to the challenge’ and we’d like to highlight some recent U.S.-based campaign fundraisers and matching challenges:
Thank you to Nancy Becker of SI/Metropolitan Las Vegas, NV, who inspired her fellow members through a $10,000 matching donation made at the region’s Soroptimist Development Retreat in August 2022. The match has nearly been met with over $9,000 raised!
Marie D’Amato Rizzi of SI/Davie, FL, rose to the challenge with a generous matching gift of $20,000 in September 2022. Thank you to Southern Region members and donors who have given nearly $15,000 and continue to support the Dream Big Campaign! From Marie: “We’re in the home stretch, let’s bring it over the finish line!”
President-Elect Bobbi Enderlin of SI/Benicia, CA, has inspired Founder Region through a recent online meeting of clubs titled, “Bobbi Beelieves,” in line with the region’s theme “Bee the Dream,” to kick off her matching gift challenge. Through her gift of $10,500, Bobbi has shown her dedication and commitment to financially supporting our Big Goal and believes in sharing that passion with those in her region. 🐝
Governor Pat Whitacre of SI/Poway, CA, has joined the challenge with a gift of $10,000 to inspire Desert Coast region members and supporters. Launching at region conference this spring, members will have an opportunity to learn more through workshops and presentations about how campaign funds have been invested and the impact made so far in serving women and girls.
North Atlantic Region
North Atlantic Region past governors, also known as the “Pearls,” have come together to raise over $3,000 in funds to match the first month’s gift of any new Stargazer to the Dream Big Campaign!
Camino Real Region
Thank you to the Camino Real Region Board of Directors who have committed a $5,000 match to all funds raised towards the campaign at region conference. The region will be hosting a panel discussion with volunteer leaders and staff to share more about how funds raised are making a difference.
Thank you to all regions who have fundraisers planned for upcoming region conferences, and the amazing work you have already done to show your support for this federation-wide effort. We look forward to highlighting some of these fundraisers following conference!
